from Lisle, IL US stayed on April 22, 2005
"I have paid for 3 nights. 4/19 - /22. On the next day, 4/20, in the morning, I asked if I can check out early. Answer was NO, because I purchased through Travelocity and there is no reimbursement for the remaining 2 nights. I said OK than, forget this conversation. And how was I surprised that night, after work, that my room was occupied. On the front desk they said - "According to our rules, if there are no belongings in the room - the reservation is cancelled!" I asked to show me this rule. Sure enough, there was no attempt. Now, the worst part is to come. They said, we are sold out and I need to find another hotel.
With all remaining politeness, I reminded them that I paid for the room for 3 nights and being thrown out to the street after one night stay in unknown city at night.
They reacted to my frustration by 'finding' a room and let me stay for another night.
I still feel anger and would expect compensation for that 3rd night and all this humiliation.
